| WSU's Tony Bennett could have tough choice ahead
He said flatly he wouldn't talk about it. You'd assume Bennett would listen. Indiana drips with history, from its five national titles to its candy-stripe warmup pants. There's a reason they made a movie called "Hoosiers." Just as there's history at Indiana, there's history with the Bennett family there. Kathi Bennett, Tony's older sister and the member of the family Dick Bennett has said might be the best at it, was head coach of the Hoosiers' women from 2000 to 2005 before resigning and getting out of the business. Indiana would offer Tony Bennett a bunch more money than the Cougars can; they're paying him $800,000 annually. Bloomington, at 70,000 population, would present a college town but not one as remote as Pullman. No more would he have to contend with the nettlesome travel issues in and out of WSU.

One America Committee blog.oneamericacommittee.com/videoblog
The One America Committee says it is "dedicated to helping elect Democratic candidates across the country." The most important Democrat seems to be Senator John Edwards. Remember him? Eight months after the 2004 Presidential election, Senator Edwards launched a video blog. While it is hard to imagine the Senator fiddling around with his computer late at night editing video (he has some professional help on this), it does maintain a grassroots, homemade feeling. Citizens (right now mostly video bloggers) can video tape a question and send it in. Then Sen. Edwards answers the question, also on video. The end result is a time-delayed conversation, or a really long town hall meeting. It is a great application of the vlog concept. And a good indicator that the Internet will continue to be a key tool in politics.
Salmond snared in donor row
ALEX SALMOND was last night fending off political attacks over his personal intervention to help a party donor win planning approval for an £80 million development in Aviemore. The first minister called his most senior planning official last month at a time when the development, backed by a hotelier who gave the SNP £30,000, looked at risk of collapsing because of a delay in the planning process. His environment minister, Michael Russell, then contacted the chief executive of the green quango responsible for the delay to question the public body's stance. The project was approved days later after the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) withdrew its concerns about the scheme. .

Microsoft Expands Online Services
Microsoft Corp. today plans to begin new tests of business programs offered as online services, in the latest attempt by the software giant to adapt to the changes being wrought by the Internet on the traditional software business. The Microsoft services come as Google Inc. and other companies are investing in similar services that in coming years could compete with Microsoft's products. The new offerings, called Microsoft Online Services, are an early salvo in that emerging battle. .
